Reflections

Lycanthropy comes with a unique set of changes, physical and mental. I think the physical ones are the worst. Not the obvious body changes, no. The hormonal ones. The urges and new desires.

It’s hard to control but you can learn to control it if you’re the right kind of person. Otherwise you go crazy from it.

Four years. Forty-eight months. Roughly one hundred and forty-four changes. Give or take. Fuck whoever that was on the mountain four years ago. Fuck him and his need.

But, by God, I understand it. The hunger. The heat. The heat more than anything once you get the beast under control.…

Wild [Commission]

This story was commissioned by RayO_ElGatubelo – all ideas, characters and settings are his.

A young woman wanders into the rainforest and is attacked. She finds herself changing under the light of the moon.

The sharp, high calls of coquis and thousands of other hidden nocturnal creatures began to fill the air as the sun slipped lower in the sky.  Darkness fell quickly in the rainforest, the trees blocking what little light remained of the red and pink and orange sunset. The sound of laughing tourists joined the small animals calling for their mates as locals moved silently around a large clearing, re-lighting special torches used to keep mosquitos and other biting insects away.…

Calendar Girl Ch. 01

A young woman becomes the target of a strange curse.

A light flurry of snow chased the three young women as they walked along the sidewalk, the surface gleaming wet from melted snow.  Laughter and conversation followed them with people calling out cheerfully and drunkenly.  Store fronts were well lit and busy, even this late at night and a Salvation Army volunteer called out for donations on seemingly every other street.

Trish hugged her body close, shivering for a moment as the wind sliced through her scarf, burning her ears.  Her small, sharp nose barely showed above the scarf.  She tried to burrow her face lower into the scarf but, instead, pulled her knit cap further down.…

First Contact

This morning I had a weird dream.  I think because I’d just finished reading a sci-fi book the day before.  Spaceships and fighting and etc… etc… So, anyway, I had a dream about aliens exploring Earth.  And, well, could aliens be infected by werewolves?  It was an interesting dream so I wanted to write it out quickly before I forgot too much or got sidetracked.

Delicate chimes alerted the young female to the impending drop.

Light flared around her as the small ship woke.  Displays gave atmospheric information surrounding the drop zone.  A live holographic representation of her site bloomed before her eyes. …

Shifting

So, there’s an artist I like on DeviantArt – wwbot (http://wwbot.deviantart.com/).  Yesterday he made a piece of art that I liked quite a lot:  http://www.deviantart.com/art/Shifting-427194669.  Today I apparently decided to write a story around it.  I meant to create just a little scene description for him to put under the image but I guess I can’t write short things well.  So, here’s a story for it.  “Shifting.”

“That’ll be $31.23.  Cash or card?”  The cashier asked.

“Oh, gosh, card.  Debit card.”  The young woman answered.  Around her, customers browsed and laughed and made lewd comments to each other while holding up various outfits. …

Winter Coat

“I need another blanket,” Susan muttered.  “This is ridiculous.”  The walls of the young woman’s tent rippled against the light wind and she shivered under her blankets as the cold settled densely around her.  The constant light snowfall pelted her tent with muttered pattering sounds.  Susan peeked over the edge of her covers to watch her small tent sway.  She could feel the cold somehow reaching through the blankets to seep into her and her bones ached from it.  She weighed her options.  On one hand, she felt like she could survive well enough with her parka, clothes, gloves, hat and four blankets. …
