I’m at 14,000 words on this science-fiction story. I don’t often say this about all of my stories but, well, I think it’ll be worth the wait. I’ve also decided to make it more than a single shot. That unfortunately puts me in the uncomfortable position of having… what? 3 multi chapter stories right now? But, I’ve found that sometimes I don’t really have that much control of the stories.
Laugh all you want but I get the idea, set up the world and then it unfolds as I write. And, sometimes I can tell when it needs to be more than one chapter. Sometimes I can see where it would actually do well with a sequel.
This will definitely be done by tomorrow. Probably by noon or so depending on editing. I’m trying to turn over a new life for my stories. I almost always rush the endings and now I’m trying not to do that. So, tomorrow. 100% sure. And it’ll be something like 16,000 to 17,000 words and (with as much humbleness as I can provide) well worth the entire read.
